7 Things to Look for When Choosing a LASIK Surgeon in Bangladesh
1. Fellowship Training in Refractive Surgery
A general ophthalmology degree alone is not sufficient for complex refractive surgery. Look for a surgeon with dedicated subspecialty fellowship training at a recognised refractive surgery centre. 3. Track Record and Volume

- Confirm the date and time of your surgery directly with the clinic
- Stop wearing soft contact lenses at least 3 days before your assessment; rigid/gas-permeable lenses at least 2 weeks before
- Use antibiotic eye drops the day before surgery as prescribed
- Perform lid hygiene with baby shampoo as instructed by Dr. Huq

What Happens on the Day of LASIK Surgery

Anaesthetic eye drops are instilled to numb the eye completely. The femtosecond laser creates a precise, thin corneal flap — taking approximately 30–45 seconds. The flap is lifted, the excimer laser reshapes the cornea to your exact prescription in 30–90 seconds, and the flap is repositioned. The incision self-seals without stitches. Most patients notice improved vision before they even sit up.
